Emails being turned off

I'll be turning off outgoing emails on the site, due to Microsoft again black-listing artofwar.cc domain from sending emails. I've noticed that the number of rejected emails has jumped from 1-2 each week up to around 60 a week. If the site keeps sending emails, it will get black-listed further, whic...

Medieval Europe v6 Discussion Thread

Hi all, I'm going to release a new version of Medieval Europe, primarily to capture the minor change in the Era rules around the Ram the Gates battle option not currently posing a threat to defending cavalry. Here's the current strengths, according to some scripts I've got that look at win/loss rati...

Re: Victory Point Distribution in Team Games

At the moment I'm contemplating the future of Art of War. That doesn't mean to say I'll stop the site, I'm definitely keeping it going, but the overhead of maintaining the code base and some fundamental issues with the way the code is designed makes it difficult to progress properly. Migrating it to...

Re: Activation timers counting up

Could be to do with daylight savings issues. The timezone on the site is set to Australia/Sydney, and needs to be changed to UTC to avoid this issue. There's potentially bad fallout from doing that though (people having turns skipped over). I need to do testing before implementing this.

Re: No turn emails

Yeah, postfix and dovecot couldn't operate under full disk utilisation, so emails will have been backlogged. Apologies about this - if it makes you feel any better, my personal emails were also affected lol

Re: No turn emails

A couple of logs went apeshit when they couldn't do stuff, I've just deleted 12GB of logs, we should be good now, 36GB free

Re: No turn emails

Righto, I just doubled disk space on the servers.

Can you confirm that you're getting emails again? I can confirm some stuff from my side, but I prefer feedback from people reporting bugs before I close bug reports.

Re: Victory Point Distribution in Team Games

I'm happy to put this in, but I'd prefer it scaled somewhat, otherwise players will deadbeat to avoid losing points. Total deadbeats should not count at all, but if someone deadbeats in the last 4 rounds of a 20 round game, that should have less impact I think. Backdating this is going to be the mos...
